6th Street at night. "Great White Way". Famous Postcard Co., postmarked 1914. The "Great White Way" was simply an term for an electrically illuminated part of town or section of road. It usually was in the theatre district as is the case in the above image. So a city like St. Louis usually had more than one "Great White Way".
